The Wisconsin Egyptian Arabian Horse Alliance (WEAHA) was created in the mid-1980's, by a small group of Wisconsin breeders of Egyptian Arabian horses. They were passionately concerned about preserving and perpetuating the vanishing bloodlines of the Straight Egyptian Arabian horse, the world's pre-eminent, living source of classic, desert Arabian blood and devoted to the breeding of Straight Egyptian horses and other horses of Egyptian lines.
Today, the Wisconsin Egyptian Arabian Horse Alliance and its regional membership in the Upper Midwest pursue, with renewed dedication, that original mission: the preservation, perpetuation and promotion of the Egyptian Arabian horse. It has become one of the few regional Arabian breeders organizations in North America and its members' steadfast commitment and enthusiastic participation in educational and promotional programs and projects are the envy of breeders' organizations everywhere.
Fellowship and camaraderie are signature elements of every WEAHA effort. The group strives to provide relevant and valuable benefits and programs for all members, regardless of their level of participation.
The annual Tour of Farms has become the flagship of the WEAHA's unmatched hospitality. Visitors on the Tour will find the Egyptian Arabian horses, and the welcome of WEAHA members, truly irresistible. The Reference Guide to Egyptian Arabian Horses , published every other year, features the breeding programs of WEAHA members and is widely circulated at equine events nationally. WEAHA looks to the future of the Egyptian Arabian horse and honoring the accomplishments of amateurs in the show-ring. WEAHA annually awards a trophy-jacket to the high-point amateur handler at the prestigious Egyptian Event, held each year at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington , KY.
WEAHA's success story is a direct reflection of the ongoing dedication and support of its members. Whether it's first-class marketing materials, exceptional educational opportunities, or visibility on the web, providing opportunities to showcase or sell your horses, the Wisconsin Egyptian Arabian Horse Alliance is there for you!
Straight Egyptian Arabians
The Straight Egyptian Arabians are a rare and elite
segment of the Arabian horse family. Although numbering less than one percent of the hundreds
of thousands of Arabian horses in the world, Straight Egyptian Arabians consistently
claim a far greater proportion of honors and championships. Even more
importantly, their intensely bred characteristics reliably improve the beauty,
type, ability and quality of successive generations of all Arabian horses.
Through our perception, our pursuit and our perseverance,
the WEAHA membership has carved out for Wisconsin a prestigious Mecca for
those Arabian horse "enthusiasts" seeking
elegant, refined bloodstock. We all warmly invite you to come visit our
members' farms. Within this stewardship, there can always be something
to learn, their can always be something to give. Let us show you our
individual breeding programs with our horses. We always have time to
sit down and chat over a cup of coffee and maybe we can swap a few horse stories. A
plus to your visit is the enjoyment of the Badger State - it's beauty, resources
and tourist attractions. The " welcome mat " is always out.
